When designing her own home in New York's historic TriBeCa neighborhood, architect Andrea Leung drew upon her childhood memories of wandering though the secret rooms of her grandmother's Vancouver penthouse. Playing with surprise and reflection to create her own architecturally-scaled cabinet of curiosities, she aimed to capture the sense of wonder that comes from the exploration and discovery of hidden spaces. The loft unfolds and reveals itself slowly; it wows you initially with its grandeur and then capitalizes on your curiosity, beckoning you to discover a more intimate immensity of private and unexpected spaces behind a wall of mirror and glass.
