Paper Forest is a site specific investigation of space and material that visualizes an understanding of resource development and environmental transformation.
The space is a representation of the volume of paper a one acre section of forest will produce during a 7 year growing cycle. The site is located adjacent to an wild life preserve which illustrates the wild transformation of arid sagebrush to virgin white paper.
The proposed space is a ghost of what is to come. The space allows the viewer to experience the compression of the landscape into product: to understand the spatial/temporal potential of the environment and the ephemeral nature of paper.
