This 12-unit social housing project is located in Le Mans in the west of France, in the heart of a predominantly residential area. The site is a former industrial wasteland. The project is based on the design of two housing buildings, built with a modular structure in maritime containers.
The ambition is to propose an isotropic project, by a simple game of shifts of volumes in cantilever, at each level, thus offering destructured lines to the building. Thus, the exterior extensions of the building are located on the urban and landscaped spaces of the site. The facade's modenature retranscribes the project's modular design by randomly assembling three facade materials.
