Transcon living, one of the most ambitious
residential projects in Malad, a suburb of Mumbai, is created for an upcoming
developer. This residential marvel has 1252 apartments and 18 duplex homes
which are spread over 56 floors. Large playground, segmented water features,
lawns and pathways are integrated in four podiums.
Facilities like theme gardens, open air
amphitheatre and recreational maidan have been seamlessly integrated in the
residential complex, which is a rare possibility in a city like Mumbai. Special
decks have been provided for each apartment. Exclusive retail facilities are
provided mainly for residents, by incorporating shopping complexes adjoining
the building. Individual buildings have separate clubhouses and entry blocks.
Factors like porous pavements, units for
segregation of garbage, rain water harvesting, solar panels, stack effect for
natural ventilation have also been incorporated in the design to make the
building more sustainable. The key feature of the residential building is free
flowing green walls running along the façade and all the apartments have access
to these exclusive green walls. The upper most level of the building offers a spectacular
view of the Global Vipassana Pagoda.
