West Styria Station is the largest newly built station on the Koralmbahn high-speed rail line. Its central feature is a hall with an arched roof and a drop-off area for buses and taxis. The hall contains retail and service spaces. A central stair tower leads to a pedestrian bridge connecting to the platforms.
All structures, information, and communication systems are designed following the “Design for All” concept. Heating is sustainably provided via heat pumps using warm mountain water from the nearby railway tunnel.
