Japanese Architecture Concept
When I first met the owner as Manager PT.TRAD
Indonesia, he wants a mosque whose day-to-day use by employees of PT.TRAD
remodeled for the better, without many demands and desires, the architect was
eventually cultivate the characters that exist in PT. TRAD is that this mosque
will have a strong character will own the company, finally found one who wants
to find a powerful concept because Owner of PT TRAD is the original Japanese,
then the architect tried to combine the style of Japanese architecture,
contemporary, and certainly meets the healthy rules of architecture although
this is difficult given the building whose roof renovation should not be
changed. Architects also hope this building will be a place to release stress
and a refreshing new aura for a factory generally has a very monotonous
building style. At that architects use a lot of elements in the Japanese style
of this building, from the floor, ceiling, Materials, Up Detail Lamps and etc.Tatami patterned
floors and light box
In the style of traditional Japanese architecture, of
course, commonly known every Japanese home used to base his tatami. The pattern
and color of Tatami and applied to the mosque TRAD using granite tile beige and
brown tile as its border. So the lines tatami indirectly forming rows for
prayers for this mosque, besides using tatami style flooring, the mosque is
also equipped with 2 pieces as much as the city lights to illuminate the
sanctuary and prayer area, these lights also follow a blend of Japanese style
lamps a simple form and brown-beige color.Trapezoid wall as
applications to maximize air Circulation
In
addition to Japanese-style design, this mosque would have to meet the rules as
much as possible of green architecture, minimal both in lighting and aeration,
but because of the existing building has a roof that can not be dismantled, it
is quite difficult to maximize the light coming in, but to get around the
existing aeration , the architect used the concept of the Trapezoid wall. trapezium-shaped
walls are arranged alternately in order to maximize the wind that enters the
mosque, but it is also quite protected privacy because trapezium effect was
intermittent. The walls are made from pieces of hebel cuted be trapezium shape
and use columns beetwen both of it, that have sufficient strength, then
finished with rough plastering it has the essence of authenticity from the
texture of existing material.Islamic Calligraphy
as a modern philosophical aesthetics
In the Japanese-style mosque, there are some details
in the form of Islamic calligraphy in a modern style shaped rigid boxes, it
serves to strengthen the philosophical elements of Islam in the mosque but in a
more modern form. Each calligraphy has a meaning corresponding to the location
where they will be installed calligraphy. As calligraphy is placed at the entrance
to the meaning of "assalamualaikum" which in Islam is the first
greeting when meeting someone or when someone leaves. In the hallway between
men and women placed calligraphy which means "ikhwan" and
"akhwad" which means men and women so that they can distinguish
between the hallway ladies and the hallway man. While the mihrab mosque itself
placed calligraphy Surah Al-Ikhlas read by turning to the middle as the main
philosophical Islamic God is one and that is Allah.
Expression of light
to create an religious atmosphere
In
this TRAD mosque, the architect made three types of expression that is
created by the lights, so the lights on the mosque can be replaced in
accordance with the wishes of the atmosphere created. Two yellow spotlights on
the right and left are the expression of warm light, creating a calm, humility,
and a fitting moment to relieve stress after a long day working in a factory.
White lamp lights behind the mihrab hiden expression showed a single light as
an orientation center Muslims around the world today to worship, symbolic of
light is showing the Way of Victory for Muslims. While the light box in the
middle of the mosque as a normal expression of this mosque, indicating a stable
situation.
