This townhouse on East 80th Street was purchased and renovated "on spec". It's elegant facade was tastefully restored (and improved), while the house behind was wholly rebuilt. The home was enlarged in the rear, excavated and underpinned below, and a story was added on top. The property sold quickly — and profitably, establishing DFA and the developer as market players and market makers.
