Architectural Narrative
Situated in Armenia and conceptualized by Urban Unit Studio, this townhouse synthesizes the surrounding natural landscape with rigorous contemporary geometry. Defined by pure volumetric forms, indigenous volcanic tuff stone, and meticulously calibrated lighting, the project establishes a compelling tectonic dialogue between regional roots and modernist expression.
Spatial Typology & Interiors
The interior spaces are curated around principles of spatial clarity, precise proportions, and profound material authenticity. A restrained, tactile palette, coupled with directed natural illumination, fosters a seamless spatial fluidity that dissolves the threshold between the interior and exterior environments. Moving beyond mere functionalism, the interiors are sculpted to elevate the human experience, balancing residential intimacy with an uncompromising contemporary aesthetic.
Tectonic Expression & Facade
The exterior composition asserts its presence through the juxtaposition of rugged stone textures, geometric austerity, and contrasting tonal values. Conceived as a deliberate intervention within its urban fabric, the facade acts as a canvas where architectural massing meets material honesty. It reads as a carefully orchestrated balance of monolithic solidity and strategic permeability, firmly anchoring the structure to its site while asserting a distinctly modern outlook.
