A young family approached our office to redesign their newly acquired Boerum Hill townhouse. Gloomy and heavily partitioned floors became clean, open, and light-filled spaces, tied together internally through the beautifully restored interior staircase. Cherry wood, natural finish oak floors, milky Italian marble, and playful textiles replaced the existing haphazardly-chosen material palette. Bespoke cabinetry efficiently and effectively utilized every inch of the seventeen-foot wide home in which the combination of traditional woodworking details and new Brooklyn sensibilities resulted in a perfect match.
