There is a disconnect that exists between our daily lives and the
deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest. Two populations: a visible,
urban population of 22 million people and an invisible population of
14.5 million “forest people” share the forest, which is the size of the
continental United States. However, the hard edge introduced through a
trim and cut back approach of occupation often brings these people in
conflict. The project proposes a point to point network of spaces that
bring the two populations together through shared human needs. The
towers permeate the impenetrable green canopy from above and connect
into a network of indigenous point-based pathways and employ a tectonic
structure that reflects the merger of these two groups.
