Our project at Tese di S.Cristoforo arises from same considerations concerning the area where the building has been placed.
It steps in between 2 ponds: the dockyard in front of the building main facade and the lagoon (situated at the opposite side of the building).
In order to metaphorically connect the two basins, the interiors have been conceived as a wave like forms.
These shapes divide the interior spaces in 3 main sectors: a foyer, a smaller room designed to hold conferences and audio-visual projections, and the main theatre room that has been built up with a terraces pattern.
The hall has been designed to accommodate different spaces: a wardrobe, a bar (at the opposite sides of the hall), a box office and restrooms (in front of the main entrance).
On both sides there is a stairway which enables the user to enter both the conference room and the theatre.
while planning these spaces, particular attention has been given to modularity, in order to make the rooms suitable for any situation: a portion of the bigger room stalls rotates of 180°, hosting part of the audience or working as stage.
The wall at the and of the conference room can be removed, in order to create a new space, working as new audience area.
In order to match function with a pleasing aesthetic result, we decided to use organic forms: the project presents a preponderance of curve-lines and an.As internal coating we made a large use of wood.
