The Unifranz Tower - La Paz Campus Expansion project is located adjacent to the back of the current Education infrastructure, on a 540 m2 lot.
The main challenge: to achieve an integration that considers the characteristics and constructive conditions of the block already built (1998), with an architecture that provides spaces for a dynamic and particular academic formation.
The integration core has had a particular analysis to achieve a fluid connectivity from the horizontal and vertical circulations of the consolidated block to the new proposal, which is governed by current municipal regulations. The design strategy is to work from the dynamism of multilevel platforms.
This same criterion and strategy, added to the flexibility provided by a clear support structure, with wide spans, is applied in the resolution of the building itself; where the classrooms of different types are exposed, to interact with the dynamic form of the teaching-learning process.
The program includes classrooms of spatiality, both theoretical and dynamic, as well as practical and experiential, which enable, with the support of the design, the approach of students to professional life.
In addition, exhibition, exchange or free student meeting spaces are generated on mid-level platforms
In addition, exhibition, exchange or free student meeting spaces are generated on half-level platforms that are hierarchized by being hung and whose design is integrated to the vertical circulation. From the volumetric conception, light quality is controlled and granted to the classrooms, from light wells, to enter the volume of opaque enclosure, enclosure also defined by the need for acoustic conditioning. The free, study and meeting areas, which complement the hanging platforms, are exposed to the city, from glazed facades that reveal the dynamism of the building.
