The “Spina 3” project represents the amplest area currently undergoing a transformation process in Turin. “Torre Blu” is the tallest building and it is part of the new Michelin North complex, which has been recently completed . It is aimed to host residential units of social nature for rental use. The volumetric configuration of the Tower includes 21 floors on top of the foundation but it is also structured with lower levels, on a U shape plan.
The three bodies come in different heights, with a different number and size of apartments. This project’s matrix engenders, in the central part of a standard floor, a maximum number of five residential units per floor, including a stairway case, two elevators and one freight lift. Blue, baby blue, grey and white are the four colours of Architecture. The junction to the ground is partially on double height, with wide glass windows on the southern and northern side. The lower part facing is in dark colour plaster; from the 7th level up, the structure has a ventilated facade covered with aluminium panels. The flat roofing has an upper crown made with metal profiles and horizontal blades to protect the loggias as well as the technical volumes, making the bodies quite lightened towards the top.
At a 80 meters height, all flat roof terraces are connected to the apartments offering amazing views on the city and the Alps.
