In the west end of Toronto, this new home replaces a small 1919 bungalow. The house boasts more than twice the original living area while using half the energy. Structural insulated panels (SIPS) optimize limited urban space by allowing for a narrow yet high-performance envelope. The efficient design keeps the residence small but spacious to ensure it does not overpower the scale of the streetscape. This project creates a strong precedent for future development in this transitioning neighbourhood.
