The project involves the complete renovation of an attic on the top floor of a historic building located along the main pedestrian street in the historic center of Cuneo. The space, originally uninhabitable, has been entirely reimagined to accommodate a new residential unit.
The layout is organized around a compact central block that integrates the kitchen and bathroom and serves as the organizing element of the internal distribution. Around this core, the living spaces unfold in a simple and legible arrangement that optimizes surfaces and ensures visual continuity.
The new roof is defined by newly constructed exposed beams, which help reshape the interior and enhance the perception of height and space.
The project is completed with the addition of a small terrace overlooking the internal courtyard, a quiet and intimate outdoor space that establishes a direct relationship with the exterior and becomes a natural extension of the living area.
The intervention results in an essential and contemporary home, balancing functional layout, natural light, and a dialogue with the historic urban context.
