Our Idea originates from researches concerning the more suitable combination of space, colors and dimensions for a child growth and wellness.
Recent studies demonstrate that curves are a welcoming and reassuring shapes, as it relates to the maternal idea of cuddling.
These elements led us to consider the “egg-shape” as main design concept: a cosy,reassuring and rounded form.
Perceptively, It creates a no danger-like form, allowing children to gather together and to keep them in a constant visual communication.
These ideas and the relationship between curvilinear and straight lines, gave life to our project.
This primordial shape is the actual design base concept of the entire project; an idea that rules the entire architectural composition and that brings order among units, spaces and paths, placing them in a constant relation with one another.
The enclosure defines the boundaries between the public space and the school area, creating at the same time a strong connection with the surroundings.The light is brought inside the building trough a series of openings,which differ by shape, dimensions and position, creating a relationship with the curve lines which characterize the project.
Illumination has a very important pedagogical function: the position of each window has been studied in order to mirror a strong connection between nature and children. By means of it, we manages to keep them connected to both the inside of the building and its surroundings, in order let the “learning-while-playing” rational take place in a safe and enclosed space which is at the same time in strong connection with nature outside.
