Let It Be, With Conscious Ease
Through years of practice, TOMO DESIGN constantly explores the deep symbiosis between design and everyday life. This reflection inspired the creation of a tangible vessel closer to the everyday—and thus, TOMOSOON was born.
Design, therefore, should transcend visual form or functional purpose, transforming into a living philosophy that can be sensed and immersed in. TOMO DESIGN has become increasingly convinced that the subtle strength of Eastern culture deeply resonates with modern desires for inner ease. "Let it be" is to follow one's heart with ease and composure.
Through a cup of coffee and a space to linger, TOMOSOON lets every pause and breath fall naturally into place, bringing the philosophy of "Let It Be" alive in everyday life—in tune with the rhythm of time, the heart, and inner ease.
Brand Philosophy: Let It Be
TOMOSOON explores a contemporary symbiosis between Eastern philosophy and global avant-garde design. Rather than relying on overt cultural symbols, the project translates Eastern rhythms into a global spatial language. By creating a vessel for natural flow, the design invites a pause in the everyday, turning a routine cup of coffee into a moment of inner ease.
Brand Space: A Fluid Realm
A Fluid Field of Avant-Garde Spirit and Eastern Sensibility
A Resonant Field of Dialogue
The space is not treated as a container; it emerges organically from the context. The space emerges organically in response to its context, creating a fluid field imbued with an avant-garde spirit and Eastern sensibility.
The building’s exterior is where the form begins to unfold. The original textures of the old structure are preserved, carrying the traces of time.
Metal frames and large areas of transparent glazing are inserted with restraint, with pine bonsai serving as a subtle Eastern cue to achieve a nature transition between old and new, interior and exterior, allowing a sense of composure emerges upon entering.
The fluid field of avant-garde spirit and Eastern sensibility is inspired by Zhuangzi’s philosophy of following the natural course of things and the spatial permeability of classical Eastern gardens. The space allows space to flow like water—boundless and unconfined. Using modern materials to translate the Eastern structure logic, giving rise to unique expression of forms and textures.
The space is conceived as a “field of dialogue” where people can chat with friends, engage with nature, and quietly experience the ease and subtle wisdom of Eastern living over a cup of coffee.
The bar counter is not conceived as a visual centerpiece, but as a soft transitional interface within the space’s inward flow. Warm-toned materials meet the time-worn red brick, harmonizing the old and new with quiet ease. Seating is arranged in a measured layout while plants and warm lighting recede into the background. Ease is not declared—it emerges naturally the moment one sits and lingers.
This sense of flow extends into the interior. Spatial volumes grow freely, following the building’s inherent logic. Furniture settles into a relaxed rhythm, preserving openness while creating a subtle sense of enclosure. Here, one naturally finds a place to linger.
Tableware, furniture, and lighting follow the same logic-clean lines and warm tactility, evoking subtle ease in every interaction.
Nature breathes life into the space. Sunlight drifts in, with an interplay of shifting light and shadow unfolding through the day. Greenery and tactile wooden furnishings settle into place in quiet rhythm, where interior and exterior come into gentle resonance.
Eastern structural logic merges with contemporary materials, bringing form, texture, scale, and spatial atmosphere into gentle balance. Visitors move at their own pace, attuning to the shifting light and shadow, quietly sensing the passage of time.
Here, from the tactile grain of wood to the gentle arcs of light and shadow, every detail quietly conveys a sense of effortless ease. The moment of enjoying a cup of coffee becomes an immersive dialogue between people, space, and nature.
This is a space of dialogue and spiritual resonance, where quiet conversations with friends unfold amid light, texture, and spatial rhythm. Here, the unhurried composure of Eastern living reveals itself naturally.
ENDING
Rooted in the brand’s “Let It Be” philosophy, TOMOSOON eschews overt symbols, revealing Eastern sensibilities through proportion, material, and subtle restraint expressed through a contemporary language. Visually, it follows a rhythm that feels effortless; spatially, it unfolds into fluid moments of movement and stillness.
The space does not pursue staged narratives but gives a sense of temporal depth within this fluid realm. When coffee, space, light, and people share the same rhythm, TOMOSOON is more than a place for a cup of coffee—it becomes a flowing dialogue between Eastern ease, contemporary life, nature, and time.
