The client is a design company, working on branding
and communication design. The company’s main concept of design is hospitality.
In Japan, the spirit of hospitality is called “Omotenashi”. This spirit has
been part of the Japanese culture for a long time. We aimed at making
“Omotenashi” space in this modern office. To make “Omotenashi” space, we
translated Japanese traditional elements into modern design. Wooden frame is
used to realize a traditional but modern space. Mirrors make the wooden frame
seem as if it is extending into a big space. Lightings are set on the wooden
frame to illuminate the ceiling. Traditional materials and colors are used in
the design. We expect visitors to feel nostalgic, easy, and relaxed by this
“Omotenashi” space.
