The goal of this Project is the restoration of a comercial property into a dental clinic with a Little área for minor surgeries.
The local “L” shaped has two levels with one meter of difference in between. The layout developing in the lower level the clinic with high presence of patients and with open views to the Paxonal Park; the surgery area is located in the upper level.
The main idea is to design the treatment area like a great cave with a big vault five metres high. Five dental boxes without ceeling, are ubicated in the midle of this space. That make the patients an open and continue view of the whole space. The vault is made of Wood with a labyrinth shape.
The design and details takes care about the following ideas:
-Low impact materials and termal mass are used in the solution such as Wood and aluminium.
- an optimized climate control system has been installed to regulate the thermal gains that are produced in the South and West facades, both in summer and in winter.
-the lighting system choosen has differents settings depending of the exterior conditions.
-we use aluminiun to design the singular facade with a labyrinth shape in a similar way used in the interior vault design. With this facade we can regulate the sunlight in the interior and to control the views.
