“Tịnh” is a small, humble, and gentle retreat—an intimate space that evokes the clarity and tenderness of childhood memories. It belongs to a series of small-scale hospitality and lodging projects, conceived as places where one can slow down, rest, and rediscover a sense of inner calm.
The space is shaped by familiar, reclaimed materials such as aged wood, traditional stools, and old chairs. Once discarded from other structures, these elements are transformed into new furnishings, continuing a different life cycle. We do not name this approach; instead, we preserve the authenticity and individuality of each material, allowing every detail to carry its own story.
Subtle inspirations from Huế emerge through motifs such as Thanh Tiên paper flowers, folk printmaking, and layered paper craft—reinterpreted through a more contemporary language. Natural light filters through the space, accentuating colors, textures, and the handcrafted imprints embedded in every corner.
Outside, a circular fire pit serves as the communal heart of the house. It is a place where people gather around the fire to share meals, warmth, and conversation—fostering a sense of intimacy, connection, and belonging, as if one were in their own home.
