The project foresees the creation of a new
Timec office building in Tianjin (China) beside the existing block, ensuring a
steep improvement of thermal performance through specific technical strategies.
The new building envelope is a composition of
modular opaque and clear panels, not only reducing construction and maintenance
costs but creating a colorful and dynamic facade. Through the formal
reinterpretation of the existing building, the new facade respects the original
layout prescriptions, achieving a harmonious integration in the context.
In the entrance, the creation of an external
barycentric reception that serves both buildings optimizes the office’s workspace,
and the creation of a covered footbridge guarantees the connection between the
office blocks. The central patio is covered by a transparent dynamic roof
permitting passive ventilation to take place and daylight to naturally
illuminate the workspaces, the open staircase offers an optimal visual and physical
connection between the different levels.
