Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated cities in the world, and Timber House provides a sense of cabin living in the middle of the city. The design seeks to bring residents on a curiosity journey within this hillside setting.
The adventure starts at the curiosity cabin, a treehouse housed inside a 2 storey high opening framing the greenery beyond. The entrance door is setback and angled to frame the treehouse. The guests are greeted by a fireplace reception, with timber ceiling which mimics a cabin.
The lift is furnished with an infinity ladder, leading up to the treehouse cabins. The playland is inspired by a forest camp, filled with different activities between treehouses.
The ambience at the lounge is warm and inviting, with a panoramic view that looks into the forest. At the heart is a floating bookshelf that extends from wall to ceiling, creating a surreal backdrop to the nature beyond.
The lodge is imagined as a forest retreat, with tree planted outside the cabins, bringing the residents closer to nature. A palette of dark green and black sets the backdrop for the bespoke brass fixtures. The entrance of the lodge is marked by a magnifying glass, coninuing the sense of curiosity.
The corridor is a wooden passageway which leads up to the roof top garden where the journey ends
