Our client is a great believer of the most mystic character of Hindu mythology ‘Shiva’; we in our project have provided a mirrored ceiling, making the boundless sky capture the spirit of this Shiva Tattva. Also, these mirrors reflect the available light enlivening the volumes. On the rear end of the drawing room, tile doors with 15” diameter circular frosted glass opening bring daylight; which when closed pose as a wall on first glance, yet when opened present a limitless avenue of the city & infinite expanse of the sky.
The low height dining and sitting enhances the spatial experience over and above the indubitable peculiar savoir-faire of dining. Cityscape can be relished from the overlooking balcony from the dining room. The client liked to indulge in media entertainment so, a power-packed audio-visual room was designed and finished in cork sheet with pine wood flooring, and to maintain the continuum of the language, the circles were used to provide the indirect lighting & shimmer to space. Interestingly in case of a large gathering in the house, to enjoy something special on the screen, the intermediary partition doors between the AV room & dining can be opened to accommodate a large gathering. The living room & two bedrooms are connected with the dedicated courtyard for indoor plantation which brings life by adding soul to this indurate tile enclosed body. Kitchen island in yellow Jaisalmeri tiles with cabinets and integral storage creates a playful contrast with white tile walls and mirrored ceilings. The breakfast counter nook is illuminated by a circular hanging lamp. Circular niches above the sink are used in cultivating kitchen herb gardening.
