2021
The project is a phenomenon in this year’s real estate industry, consisting of landscape, architecture, interior and furniture all designed by DOMANI. It has not only earned a leading position for Times China in the local real estate market, but also become a new hot-spot for local citizens.

Bricks have been widely used in traditional Chinese residence, and Foshan has a reputation for clay brick production, which inspired the design team’s research on the material on the early stage of the project. The customized bricks in the project were created by 25 sets of molds, resulting in rich specifications and trimming systems. The scale and proportion of the bricks were modernized in relation to the specifications of ‘hand-holdable bricks’, through iterative research on the six indicators, i.e. controllable furnace condition, material performance, applicable structure, process stability, production cost. Thus, the bricks were eventually refined, to meet the requirements of large-scale public buildings as a traditional material. It resulted in a continuous ambience in the project. The unify material selection achieved a lower overall construction cost, as well as efficiency. .

The mesh-like double-layer curtain wall system features a unique grid masonry effect, achieving by combining traditional bricks with modern curtain wall structural design. Equilateral triangular modules are assembled to form the mesh-pattern facade. The system reduces the heat conduction of the building and effectively improving its insulation performance. At the same time, the 240mm-thick side openwork brick curtain wall system forms a sunlight filter, preventing glares caused by direct sunlight while enhancing the softness of the light through refraction.

Besides, bricks are also the main materials in interior, which directly derived from the architecture, bonding between interior and exterior while greatly reducing the construction costs and risks.
