ÜberRaum Architects are currently delivering a masterplan for 65 mountainside villas. The properties are part of a new landscaped development, set in a stunning mountain setting in Gabala, a town in a mountainous region of northern Azerbaijan.
The spectacular site slopes down steeply, overlooking the river, valley and plain. Ranging from 600-1000m2, villas are organised around landscaping and water features which channel snow melt. This prevents flooding while creating a beautiful feature of the site from a simple natural process. Tactile natural materials from the local area are used, interpreted in a contemporary manner.
Leading the development of the scheme, ÜberRaum Architects bring extensive masterplanning experience to the project. The team developed a landscape-driven design giving each villa a close relationship to the landscape and hillside topography.
Making the most of long views and panoramic vistas, the landscaping concept creates plentiful green open space, resulting in high quality villas and creating a masterplan for an inspiring new community, in a stunning mountain setting.
