For the Third Street apartment the goal was to turn a typical Hong Kong style 37m2 apartment from a two bedroom flat into a fully equipped and spacious bachelor apartment.
With a simple floor plan that separates the social space from the intimate area the material choices have helped to reinforce these 2 distinct universes and to hide service functions into the cosy living ROOM.
To limit the VISUAL IMPACT of the kitchen on the small living area it has been fully integrated into the continuity of a wood veneer wall that stretches over 2 sides of the room. The freestanding island counter has a multi purpose use and works as bar counter, working desk or dinner table. The choice of shiny and dark colored materials provides a calming and relaxing atmosphere to the very bright apartment and reinforces the privileged view towards Hong Kong harbor and IFC.
