Elegance of timeless design
Interior design for Mr joji ,Thevirathu Thejus Kudassanad.
Introduction
This modern, 3,000-square-foot, three bedroom residential interior is located in Kudashanadu.
The client, Mr.Joji a well travelled Nri reached out to Ar.Sajan varghese of Sajan+Architects to do the interior design of his residence.
He wanted an elegant, functional and a timeless design where his entire family could be comfortable and where they could host friends.
“The clients are simple yet progressive; they are close-knit and highly fond of hosting large socials,” says Sajan.
Living area
This home features a contemporary design aesthetic. Pops of colors waft across the living room and dining room—the neutral,
Tactile wall papers and careful lighting give a warm feel to the space. The highlighting element being the teak wood hanging portion wall, which functionally segmentize and elaborates the space as per the social requirement. A rocking chair placed here invites the dwellers to relax and unwind.
The unobtrusively elegant space is dotted with a litany of art and furniture design—all without exceeding the home in scale or presence.
Dinning space
An airy double-height Dinning + stair case, in flow with its curvilinear toughened glass wooden handrail continues the elegance. From the retro dining chairs to the TV unit and ceiling to cabinets, the extensive display of wooden elements is apparent and lends a warm vibe to the contrasting white interiors.
kitchen
A black granite countertop and Teak veneer + acrylic polyurethane finished storage create a contrast with the light-hued walls.
Seamless white ceiling, designer white dado tiles and Granite countertop makes it functional yet chic.
Home theatre
A whimsical, Stripe - inspired wall paneling transforms the Theater room into a dreamy, Cinematic wonderland. A shining, Vitrified floor, Flowing wallpaper pattern and cove lightings elevates the room in 3d effect. Custom made Cozy recliners and perfectly framed movie posters, on the rear ceiling gives the room a theatrical spin.
Master bedroom
The bedrooms are an exercise in restraint—the master bedroom features a full length connected Head board + ceiling and a painted glass sliding wardrobe which makes an elegant statement. The beige leather headboard with diamond button work detailing adds to the bedroom’s Luxurious feel.
KIDS bedroom
The kid’s bed room is a stark contrast from the rest of the rooms, in that it has a pop of green color highlighting wall and a triangular geometric wall art.
“The couples are very hands on parents,” says Sajan. “They wanted an area that the kids could appropriate for themselves.”
The team interacted with the children, to see what they liked and disliked. Based on that, they developed the color palette and geometric shapes.
Guest bedroom
The guest room continues the light and Neutral color palette with the exposed wooden rafters of ceiling and the canvas painting taking centre stage.
A chic dresser-cum-study and contemporary art pieces complete the room. The rafters over the bed create an intimate space that feels cozy.
