The base is located within the Qiandao Lake Scenic Area in Chun'an County, on the western outskirts of Hangzhou. As one of China’s most renowned lake tourism destinations, it also stands as the largest national forest park in the country.
Chun'an County, where the base is situated, is a convergence of Huizhou culture and Jiangnan culture, boasting unique characteristics of Jiangnan style. Through systematic research on ancient village dwellings in Chun'an County, we summarized the local main building materials and extracted core elemental symbols: wood, brick, stone, horse-head walls, etc.
The terrain of the plot slopes gently from high in the northwest to low in the southeast with an orderly undulation. In terms of functional layout, we arranged the guest room buildings along the contour lines, balancing terrain adaptation and space utilization; meanwhile, separate presidential suites and a featured conference center are placed on the northeast side to achieve clear functional zoning without mutual interference.
