This information building is meant to receive
visitors, such as investors or local elected officials, in order to present the
project of a future business district, situated within the area of the Orly
airport. It works as an architectural media that allows to see and to be seen.
This is the reason why is was conceived as an urban observatory, a platform
raised 7,5m above the ground, that allows visitors to watch the current state
of the vast construction site at the same time as they can scrutinize the
details of a scale model showing the future of the site. The infobox takes the
form of a temporary metal structure, covered with a textile net, white and
perforated, reminiscent of the nomadic architectures of tents and industrial
sheds. Thus, it relates to the transient identity of the airport, a place of
movement, travel, and vast horizontal landscapes. It refers to the modern
poetry of air travel, and to the opportunity to create a new district devoted
to trade and exchange.
