CollinsWoerman’s involvement with the redevelopment of Bellingham’s waterfront community began in late 2003 when Georgia-Pacific retained CollinsWoerman to assist with positioning of the property through a 90-day due-diligence analysis. Since the sale of the property to the Port of Bellingham in January of 2005, CollinsWoerman has been directly involved with strategic positioning to help guide the redevelopment of 250 contiguous waterfront acres into a thriving extension of Bellingham’s downtown community. Under development as one of the nation’s first LEED-ND (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Neighborhood Development) projects, The Waterfront District has the opportunity to shape and lead the regional, national and international thinking about sustainable strategies.
