It was to be dreamy little cottage house full of light fulfilling the dream of their daughter to have a tree house. It was to be a minimum budget studio dwelling unit with two bedrooms, cozy living dining and a kitchenette.
The design was made to capture the essence of being in a tree house, using the same ideology of suspending the home above the ground.
The suspension serves a dual function of creating a shaded pavilion in the Rajasthani hot days and also maximizing the views of the lake and the Aravalli hills around by creating dwelling unit on the first floor.
The Veil of the house – the metal lattice, is used to resonate the culture of Rajasthan, is not only ornamental but has been designed as the main structural support system. This reduces the
The jali patterns used create a sense of enclosure creating a cozy space to hangout below, with the concrete pedestals acting as seating and tables.
The slabs are planned to be of metal with local Sandstone Slabs (Tukdi) and exposed brickwork, resonating the ‘new’ vernacular construction of the area while creating the contemporary design.
The construction is designed to have minimal ecological impact. This also gives a finished ceiling design with the metal sections creating a pattern of their own with the sandstone.
All rooms are designed to have the view of the lake, with a protruding deck space.
