A remarkable meeting of minds occurred with the ship-building clients of the Trumpet House. During a site visit it became clear that the house should rest within a grove of trees, the positions of which had to be plotted. Weeks after commissioning a surveyor, we still did not have a survey and the deadline loomed. The solution was a structural concept of independent “trumpets” that could be flexible to the precise location of the trees.
