REINVENT THE ‘OFFICE’ SPACE
The brief envisions an outcome where the idea of the conventional office is completely
stripped of its formal essentials, and reinvented to be a dynamic, versatile and lively space
fostering innovation and creativity in users. While serving its purpose
of being a work environment, the design needs to be evocative enough to radicalize how
office buildings are looked at; and serve as a model that critically questions the present day
functioning of the corporate ‘workspace.’
RESUSCITATE THE NOTION OF ‘WORK’
In a place where one spends the maximum time of his/her week, work isn’t just a job; but is a
lifestyle. The brief asks participants to interpret this space which is a union between work and
personal life. The brief envisions a model for IT office spaces that breaks the conventional
system of corporate blocks, asking participants to create a space that enhances productivity,
attend work hierarchies, and evokes an atmosphere inducing creative thought and
collaborations among people.
REVIVE THE CONTEXT
The office design should be a people-oriented design responding to behaviours and current
mores, moulding itself to the social habits of users in this part of the world. The architecture
should bring in the richness of its cultural context creating a dialogue with the ethos of its
surroundings, while respecting the needs of being a workplace. Rather than it being a mere
architectural expression, the building should have a holistic approach
towards responding to the site it is in.
The ticking tower functions in the form of an hourglass model where it repeats itself in a continuous loop . Time work and play are co-related in this loop creating a new experience of how an individual functions in their respective time zones and make their best out of it .
The ticking tower is balanced with these three actions of an individual making it a prominent structure for the user to get into these loops and function regularly in a way the individual experiences new interfaces in each day making their work life easy .
The relation of time , work and play is determined by the individual's choice and the towers help them to achieve it through the functions provided within the towers giving the individual the opportunity of making righteous decisions of his own choice .
Life and work are both the phases of a human being . All our lives are spent trying to keep these activities apart.Life and work are contrary to each other, but are related when maintained with a balance. The element that connects the contrasts is time .Time in an hourglass determines the span between a human's work and life . As the architecture competition features a co - working office space , the ticking towers put forward the idea of balancing life and work in more scheduled circumstances
