The Tabasco Amphibious Project it is a Master
Plan of Sustainable Amphibious Urban Development for the State of Tabasco
Mexico.
In memory of the
residents and visitors who faced terrible moments in the floods throughout the World.
During the 20th
century, floods were the number-one natural disaster in Mexico in terms of
number of lives lost and property damage. They can occur at any time of the
year, in any part of the country, and at any time of the day or night.
Most lives are lost
when people are swept away by flood currents, whereas most property damage results
from inundation by sediment-laden water.
Flood currents also
possess tremendous destructive power, as lateral forces can demolish buildings
and erosion can undermine bridge foundations and footings leading to the
collapse of structures. The accompanying map and table locate and describe 32
of the most significant floods of the 20th century.
The Objectives of this
Master Plan are:
To back up with safety the inhabitants of
the State of Tabasco and the Southern Region on Mexico, avoiding loss of
life.
Prevent the economy from the state to stop
because of flooding in different productive sectors.
Promoting Investment in State supported with the Amphibian project.
§
Helping
the Health and Education sector.
§
Create
jobs in the various productive sectors of industry.
§
Use
of low lands for its development.
Exploiting the natural resources from a
sustainability perspective to economic and social development of the
population and ecological protection of natural ecosystems.
Consolidate the Project of the Amphibious
Cities to complement the existing
cities of the State, within the framework of an interregional structure
that considers economic, social and tourism resulting from the Tabasco Counties.
Propose a land ordinances from the use of
urban and tourist activities, according to aptitude, potentiality of land
use, from an ecological and
environmental perspective.
Build and preserve the characteristics of
the biodiversity of rivers, streams and pond systems as an attractive
landscape for the promotion and development of tourism and environmental
activities of the micro-region.
§
Encourage
people living with the theme of water as well as alternative tourism activities
hiking, ecotourism and scientific exploration to complement the economic
development of municipalities of the State, while ensuring the conservation of
the original ecosystems
§
Creating
alternative to the economy sources resulting from the use of new technologies
to use amphibious system in the State of
Tabasco, in the different sectors such
as housing, hospitals, offices, restaurants, shopping centers, hotels, resorts,
and the application of this technology to services of Industrial
Agriculture and Livestock
The
amphibious project is a sustainable
mobile floating system, initially designed to solve the problem in
flooded areas of our country . As a complement to the urban layout of our
cities we will be able to use the low-lying areas for development. This
system is aimed at preventing pollution, and improving the
quality of life for our citizens by protecting their assets from
inclement weather ,and also provide a
construction system that offers high performance safety and service. A more
efficient and pleasant way to live with water.
The
amphibious project also provides green technology for homes with solar and wind powered energy, free from
noise pollution and contributing heavily to rescue our natural environment.
Using
a gravity high infrastructure as water levels rise guided by posts that will be
place underground .Mounted on a base of
concrete, creating a floating base for the building to be self-sufficient, having its own
clean water storage and wastewater
collector also the building will be
provided with wind and solar power system making this project a modern and
innovative.
Amphibian
Ecological Cities
An
Eco-City is a Amphibious community integrating all services for development and
good performance, placed together in a common property.
Will improve the environment, economics, and social performance through
collaboration in managing environmental issues and energy resources. By working
together, the community seeks a collective benefit that is greater than the sum
of individual benefits each company or resident account in the optimization of
individual performance.
Economic
Benefits of Eco-Amphibian Cities
In
the cooperative efforts of companies, save energy, reduce industrial waste, and
increase resource efficiency, thereby helping the environment and reduce costs
in the long term.
Strategies
for designing an Amphibious - Eco City
Designing
facilities in harmony with the characteristics and limitations of local
ecosystems; Minimize global contributions in the environmental impacts, ie
emissions of greenhouse gases using sustainable energy.
Flows of materials and 'waste'
management of pollution prevention, especially with toxic substances; Ensure
maximum re-use and recycling of materials between the companies; Reduce toxic
materials risks through integrated treatment of waste at the site.
Hazards , Risks , Vulnerability and Flood Zones
Floods
are of increasing public concern world-wide due to increasing damages and
unacceptably high numbers of injuries.
Previous
approaches of flood protection led to limited success especially during recent
extreme events. Therefore, an integrated flood risk management is required
which takes into consideration both the hydrometeorogical and the societal
processes.
Moreover,
real effects of risk mitigation measures have to be critically assessed.
