THE STREET IS ALSO A HOUSE ...
The street is also a house ... explores the
urban environment interactions in a series of sets of furniture perfectly
stereotyped in any existing interior space, public or private.
The object is materialized in a plane to be
held in red Valchromat (MDF), this plane is placed at a vertical position and through various mechanisms opens and
becomes self-supporting .
The materialization of the object's form
and program meet multiple objectives ,conceptually reminiscent of the color of Tschumi
architectural objects intended to point
out and say "... is there." Table place, seating’s, informal place to
stop.
The opening, the transformation of the
object in two-dimensional tables and chairs, challenges the user to interact to
create a use and promote action.
Public space is a meeting place, it is
intended that this object becomes a gathering place, people who interact in an
urban environment, sitting on foot or by bicycle are all welcome to our street.
The object to be installed in the area of Couros
in Guimarães, will be built in Valchromat, material manufactured and developed
in Portugal, the plan will consist of two sheets bonded or grafted to reach the
length indicated in the project. On the face of the plan will open the
negatives, reusing leftover parts to build the furniture. This will be put into
operation by removing safety pins and turning the pieces placed in the lateral
pivot openings.
In the plan it will be cut sets of written information
placed in strategic sites contributing to the identity of the object.
