On the border between Oak Park and River Forest, our client saw a need for a refined senior
living concept. The result is The Sheridan at River Forest, a four-story senior living facility that
provides a high-end concept within an urban setting.
The Sheridan provides both assisted living and memory care across 125 units. The project is a
robust facility with a sensitive user group that not only provides sensitive healthcare services,
it fosters a sense of community thanks to its well-appointed and elegant gathering spaces,
dining facilities, and gardens.
The project was designed to work in harmony with its surroundings, with materials reflecting
the building’s neighbors and environment. The early Prairie style architecture provided the
structure with an inviting and familiar, yet sophisticated look. Its variety of materials and depth
across its facade make the otherwise large development feel more in line with its single-family
neighbors.
