Urbanisation is an actual tendency that contains potentials as well as challenges. People move from rural areas to larger cities - which continuously grow. New exciting housing areas are developed around the large cities, but what happens with the buildings in the rural areas? When the empty houses are not resold, they are often left to maturity and at last demolition - which results in a huge amount of materials going to waste.
Lendager Group sees a major potential in bringing the materials with us, when we move to the city - and reuse them in new buildings. The potential is that newly build houses reduce the CO2-emission up to 70 percent in the construction phase, because the reused building materials already have had a life in another building.
The Resource Rows will be the first housing area developed of materials from the old houses. The unique architecture includes among other materials upcycled brick walls and wood, which now is used in the construction of the The Resource Rows.
