your fashionable living space. The Residences Kuala Lumpur introduce you to the
haute couture of sanctuary – high fashion inspired new living trends from the
most prestigious catwalks. Either you are fond of the classic and sophisticated
style of Christian Dior, or the avant garde design of Heider Ackermann, glamour
will seduce you every time you come home. The timelessness of Dior defined the
vision of the larger apartment (Type B). The spirit of the French designer is
expressed both with silhouettes and hues. Feminine chicness influenced the shapes
and textures. Beloved women’s pleats, highlighted in the 2012 spring-summer
collection, were translated from the catwalk to the apartment as the feature
design motif. Pleat-like focal wall in the living area, although made of vinyl
timber, took the basic inspiration from the fabric's flexibility. The layering
inspired design throughout the apartment was used to create the touch of
mystery, which accurate characterizes the fair sex. To highlight the organic touches,
monochrome colours with the dominant black were juxtaposed with vibrant green
and powerful magenta. In line with Dior’s principle, as he is quoted to say,
"I have designed flower women", the bloom chair stands out in the
center of living space. This high designer piece in the shape of oversized
green flower adds a subtle textural feel to the interior and plays together
with the richness of the carpet. Dramatic ambience created from magenta
and black characterizes the space in the bedroom. The intimacy achieved by
intensive coloured finishing is enhanced by the layering style of the headboard
feature wall. Black tinted mirror with the enlarged floral pattern is hidden
behind metal framing and laser cut metal shelves on the top. The high fashion mood is further
extended in the cozy study room with comfortable seating and chic armchair with
footstool. Its black polish surface provides modern take on the classic design
paying tribute to the great timeless Christian Dior fashion. Representing the new designers
generation, the unconventional style of Heider Ackermann is perfectly reflected
in the smaller apartment (Type A). According to his fashion shows the
vibrant colours were complemented with subtle and monochrome hues. The soothing
shades of gray were chosen to interact with the abundant exposure of turquoise
and yellow. Tinted mirrors intensify the colour impression and double the sense
of spaciousness. The inspiration from the silhouette of Ackerman's clothes
determines the vertically cut walls, which elongate the height of the space.
Although the living area was very limited, transparent tables and chairs help
to open it up. The countless reflections from the soft shaped metallic pendants
completed the definitive style. The final touch comes from the sculptural
yellow armchair inspired by the diagonal lines of masculine Ackermann design. Reflective and transparent concept, yet
in more subtle way, is further presented in the bedroom. Headboard, being the
centerpiece, features stripes of check fabric punctuated with turquoise and
yellow tinted mirrors. Together with the prominent framed mirror located behind
the desk give the airy feel to the cozy interior. The silhouette and layers
concept inspired from Ackerman's fashion is the vision behind the bathroom
design. The colored textured glass, which separates it from the bedroom, is
used to create shadowed contours – the final touch of sexiness to the space.
