The Piers
The Piers is a luxury residential complex designed for the Al Mouj development in Muscat, Oman. The brief was for a landmark building with a unique design, that encompassed the overall sustainable vision outlined by Al Mouj Muscat.
Situated at the tip of the Northern peninsula, the site boasts dramatic marina, and ocean panoramas. The design maximises these fantastic vistas for every apartment through its simple form. Two volumes positioned back to back form a V shape, accessing views, and also allowing for a truly unique amenity, a private internal courtyard and beach.
Each wing of the building steps down towards the water, and culminates with impressive villas positioned at the end of each ‘pier’. These villas seem to float in the ocean, and allow direct and exclusive access from the water.
The Piers has defined landscaped arrival zones, protected garden courtyards, active street frontages, and special landmark elements, such as the harbourmaster tower, to celebrate vistas within the masterplan. These features link back into the surrounding urban realm, and so The Piers forms a cohesive design, and enhances the existing Al Mouj development. It represents the pinnacle of luxury living, at the gateway to the marina.
