They say that every cloud has a silver lining. Hence, even a fire of an apartment may be a good reason for its fundamental reconstruction. From the ashes of an originally very sectional and dark disposition, a new floorplan has risen like a Phoenix. It reflects the needs of a five-member artistic family.
Thanks to a distribution of lights in the walls, the daylight can now get into the whole space. An entrance hall, equipped with a lot of storage units, connects main living spaces with the entrance and hygienic facilities. The key element of the apartment is a dining room with kitchen, where the family meets with grandparents, friends and colleagues at a big dining table. The dining room is connected to a living room through a tetrahedral bookcase with a small reading place. This unique piece of furniture serves not only as storage of reading materials, but also as a family bulletin board or an exhibition space for souvenirs. A living room with a desk separates a master bedroom from a bedroom of their two younger kids. The oldest son has his own room.
Our aim was to create generous common areas, as well as enough private spaces for all the residents.
