Mizzi Studios refurbished the Phesantry at Bushy Park in London on behalf on their long standing client Colicci family. From an architectural point of view the studio aimed to create an outstanding piece of architecture that blended the existing site seamlessly into its environment whilst enriching the surrounding landscape whilst enhance the catering and visitor’s experience catering for the large volume and diverse nature of customers visiting Bushy Park.
Due to the sensitive nature of the site any form of development within the Royal Parks is generally only allowed in exceptional cases and is rigorously monitored. Mizzi Studios worked closely with arboricultural consultants to ensure that none of the existing trees would be compromised by the development. This Pheasantry Café has brought together all the wishes of the Royal Park & Colicci’s and has greatly elevated the experience of its visitors. Harnessing natural light and working to the original buildings strengths where possible, the result is a free flowing building that oscillates in a similar manner to a growing sine wave, forming a natural interrelated composition within the landscape.
