GKV Architects completed the design of the Queens offices for The New York Foundling. The non-profit organization was originally founded as a home for abandoned children and still offers many programs today to aid children and families in need. This site serves as the headquarters for outer-borough operations. The program includes 200 workstations, training rooms, conference rooms, and a 30-person boardroom. Additional spaces include a library and private touchdown spaces for quiet working and treatment rooms that allow for private family counseling. For all open office areas, an industrial look was achieved, fitting to the history of the building, with exposed ductwork and utilities. For the more private spaces, ceilings were installed for acoustic reasons.
