To make the
impact of the movie theater more homogenous and even more present to the
outside we have decided on a media facade.
The facade
should affect as a second skin and should be covered with information all about
cinema. By black and white pixel elements cinema posters will be depicted on
the new sheathing. In the daytime only in black and white- at night time the
cinema posters shape shift to colorful movie scenes.
The
existing building will be refurbished and will obtain its originally wooden
facade. By its warm colors and materials the cinema body forms a contrast to
its white and a little distant covering.
The new
facade does not contact the old main body. It muffles the building with the
distance of the circumferential gallery and creates a room, which gives the
visitor time to plunge into the world of cinema.
Only by
black and white pixel elements the facade obtains an additionally effect. By
daylight the building appears as a white levitating body, which is in contrast
to the monotonous surrounding.
Having a
closer look to the building during nighttime a totally different impression
arises.
Converted
into a big, luminous and vivid screen the facade seems transparent and allows
views into the inside of the building.
