Founded in 1919 as a modern, progressive, free institution by New York academics,The New School is currently home to some 9,300 students. Renowned for itsteaching, international think tank, World Policy Institute, Parsons School for Design(the university’s highly competitive art school) and as host of the National BookAwards, the school has cultivated an atmosphere that encourages individuality andenlightenment.New York Engineers was involved in the renovation of the 12th floor of The NewSchool building in order to create a modern, multiuse events space. A master plan,feasibility, and survey were performed and a new VAV HVAC system for individualcomfort was recommended, as well as new power and lighting. Sprinkler and firealarm systems were upgraded.Principals of New York Engineers performed this project while at previous firmsincluding Joseph R.
