Founded in 1919 as a modern, progressive, free institution by New York academics,The New School is currently home to some 9,300 students. Renowned for itsteaching, international think tank, World Policy Institute, Parsons School for Design(the university’s highly competitive art school) and as the host of the National BookAwards, the school has cultivated an atmosphere that encourages individuality andenlightenment.New York Engineers supplied services for the gut renovation of the 16th floor inorder to create a modern, open plan office and classroom space. Alterationsincluded new VAV HVAC system for individual comfort, as well as new power andlighting. The sprinklers and fire alarm systems were upgraded.
