The Moorings, Portishead, continues a very successful delivery of plots for Crest Nicholson as part of their masterplan for the redevelopment of the Portishead Quays site in North Somerset.
The scheme comprises 31 apartments and 9 townhouses with a fantastic west facing aspect looking over Portishead Marina. The design of the townhouses takes full advantage of this with a large terrace at fist floor level leading off the living room and a large roof terrace and associated sun room on the fourth
floor.
The apartment building at seven floors links in with the height of the proposed adjoining plot. All the apartments are accessed via a single core to the rear of the building which rises from a courtyard where parking is provided. Each apartment has either a terrace or a balcony to enjoy the beautiful views over
the marina.
Street elevations of both the townhouses and the apartments have projecting bays clad in a composite board with a natural wood finish. The apartments also have large planes of natural timber to the street frontages and brick and render forms to
the rear.
The next stage in the masterplan, Sixty8 at the Marina, is sited at the top of the marina facing south and will help frame the water and complement and reinforce the design approach of The Moorings.
