The small "Back to the Future" recreation and resort village is located in Inyo County, California. The first phase of site development consists of fifteen buildings on 17.5 acres of property in a serene desert setting near the Nevada border. The Mission and Inn resort community for12 to 15,000 residents is conveniently located less than 45 minutes from the south end of the Las Vegas resort corridor and less than 20 minutes from the town of Pahrump, Nevada. Pahrump is a rapidly developing community with a population in excess of 35,000 residents.
Located adjacent to the historic "Old Spanish Trail" that once served as the main linkage for pioneers heading to the California Gold Rush in covered wagons, the region provides ample opportunities for visitors and guests to explore some of America’s early history, participate in religious celebrations, learn about the environment and eco-systems of the Mojave Desert and visit Death Valley, only a short distance away.
A large segment of the first phase of development is columbarium facilities and a 100 person chapel. Four small columbarium buildings contain 2200 vaults, each with 4400 urns, in the first development phase; as well, there are 148 private exterior vaults containing 1184 urns, and an exterior circular vault area containing 132 vaults and 264 urns. The first phase of columbaria provides 9,080 vaults and 19,048 urns. A second phase of future development contains 10,000 additional indoor vaults and 20,000 urns.
The project is planned and designed to achieve LEED Platinum Certification. It is being constructed using low-technology building systems and materials, including recycled and other "Green" materials specially manufactured from renewable resources. In addition to exceeding LEED and California’s Title 24 requirements, the project possesses a net-zero carbon output. All structures have a designed minimum functional life of 100 years and all energy requirements are met using rooftop mounted photovoltaic panels.
