PROGRAM GOAL: To provide luxury lofts and flats that contribute to the work where you play concept for urban professionals. Total integration of modern and traditional visual elements to celebrate responsible ‘green living’ in a true urban setting.
Named after Edgar Allan Poe’s poem, The Lenore is
an adaptive use of the historic Federal Reserve Bank originally designed in 1926. The renovated building located in Baltimore’s central business district consists of 102 luxury lofts and flats will afford much needed residential opportunities to nearby hospital professionals and businesses. Bounding with
amenities to include an iPad bar, cyber lounge, outdoor patio grill/lounge area, gated dog walk area, community lounge and fitness center, this project offers the perfect urban home.
The design concept was to celebrate the existing renaissance revival architecture while injecting new modern elements into the interior space to create a marriage between old and new. The interior design intent was achieved by inserting an over sized feature wall in the center of the lobby that serves a dual purpose as the entry focal point and the anchor of the reception desk. To create a dramatic effect, the juxtaposition of the modern feature wall comprised of sculptural panels and glass cylindrical lighting with the existing ornate plaster ceilings and polished marble columns were utilized.
