A residential retreat exploring the relationship between architecture, landscape, and the perception of time through a dialogue between enclosure and openness.
The Laplace Retreat is a residential project conceived as a dialogue between architecture, landscape, and human perception.Located within a natural context, the project explores the idea of retreat not as isolation, but as a deeper connection with place. The design seeks to create a continuous relationship between interior and exterior spaces, allowing light, material, and landscape to become active elements in shaping the experience of inhabitation. The architectural language is developed through a careful balance between solid and void, openness and privacy, permanence and transformation. Rather than imposing itself on the landscape, the project aims to emerge from its surroundings, creating a quiet yet immersive spatial experience.Through the integration of natural elements, material simplicity, and controlled atmospheres, The Laplace Retreat reflects H A M S O O’s approach toward creating spaces that connect people with place, memory, and time.
