Shifting the focus from eventual intruders to daily-base users, we´re able to conceive a private condominium entrance as its first collective space, an urban scale visiting room.
We´ve developed this project from the three internal universes with witch the entrance pavilion daily interferes: the dense fauna and flora in which it´s inserted; the view from all the condominium houses that, on a higher level, will always see it from above; the inhabitants and users that daily cross its gates.
By transforming the flat roof into a lake we´re pleasing the first two (the ecosystem is re-completed, with birds returning to drink, eat and refresh, and the view from above is a beautiful water-mirror reflecting the open-sky).
By inserting a discrete periscope on the slab´s apparent thickness, we´re including daily users on the process. When stopped at the entrance pavilion, they´re able to see, trough perfect reflection and on the large window at their eye-level, all the water, fauna and flora they´re passing under.
From “go away” to “welcome home”, through a lake and a periscope.
